So today has been a day of experimenting and putting to practice some of what I've read.
One of the items covered is "linkback checking" and is important for companies monitoring what is said about them in the Blogosphere (ugh - that's not a real word is it?)
Anyway linkback monitoring works.
Take a look at the comments on my first post. Obviously David is watching what is said about his book.
Too cool.

Bad Day on the Water vs. Good Day @ Work
You know the old saying a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work.
Well .... I'll take work today.

Hello World
As a techie type of guy, I guess I'm really late to this dance.
My first blog.
I guess it's not really my first because I've had Arnold.org going for a number of years. It's just that Blogger looks so easy, and the challenge of designing a web site that works has waned compared with the need to just get the ideas out fast and permanent.
Arnold.org has turned into a photo album which is not a blog.
I'm going to have to credit David Meerman Scott and his book The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to Use News Releases, Blogs, Podcasting, Viral Marketing and Online Media to Reach Buyers Directly with shocking me into action.
Part of my job is to promote motion control products for companies on the web site MotionControl.com and David's book speaks directly to the future.
Btw: If you are still visiting web sites individually and not using a newsfeed reader like Google Reader, you're wasting your time. I now understand how people can keep tabs on hundred's of web sites & blogs and still keep their jobs!
